Teaching is my Superpower! As a product of the Ventura Unified School District, (go Buena Bulldogs!!) I am honored to teach for the same school system that gave me such a strong educational foundation. I have always had a passion for working with kids and that started in 2008 when I began working as a tutor at Buena High School. Throughout my undergraduate education, I worked for a program called AVID, tutoring first in the family college prospects in multiple subjects from grades 6th through 12th. From there, I was a camp counselor at the Ojai Valley School Summer Program for seven summers. I have taught second grade, 4th and 5th grade mathematics, middle school math, high school geometry and algebra 2, did a stint as a resource teacher and most recently, worked as a co-ed P.E. teacher at Anacapa Middle School. After graduating with my undergraduate degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, I went on to study the best practices for teaching mathematics in grades k-12 and earned my masters degree as well as my multiple subject teaching credential. This upcoming year, I look forward to working with the middle school program at Sunset as the 6th grade teacher.
